Art Bursary

University can be a daunting time and ZGBTST wishes to relieve some of this stress and help improve the lives of our youth.

The Zachary Geddis Break the Silence Trust is honoured to work so closely with the NWRC on the delivery of the Art Bursary every year. We are happy to announce for the third year in a row we able to offer an Art Bursary award of £1000 for one student of the North West Regional College enrolled in the Foundation Degree Art Course. This is our way of giving back to NWRC for all they did for Zachary, in making his dream of studying at the London University of Arts a reality. The NWRC have been fully supportive since the establishment of ZGBTST.

The bursary applications are now closed within the college.

Applications closed on Friday 24th April and the winner was  chosen in June. A celebratory evening will be held for the winner when the lockdown measures have been released.

Aoife Harvey received our Art Bursary in 2019 and wrote to the trust explaining how the bursary helped her:

“In 2019 I was honoured to find out that I would be receiving the Zachary Geddis award . At that time I was preparing for university and working very hard to do my artwork to the highest standard but at the same time trying to raise money for going to university.

The bursary has helped benefit me financially and took so much pressure of the cost of university and especially studying a subject like fashion and textiles which can be very costly .

When I received the bursary I knew I would be able to live in beautiful modern , comfortable and secure accommodation for my first year at university which has allowed me to live not even five mins from my university. I couldn’t have been more greatful for receiving this bursary”
